How to Update Engine Sim to the Latest Version
Update without losing your engines: the two-minute XAPK update flow and what to do if it fails.

Do you need to update?
If you are on the latest build, you are current. If your Engine Sim build is older, the update brings smoother throttle response, better shift logic, and faster engine-select loading. There is no auto-update for sideloaded XAPKs, so this is a manual two-minute job.
The update flow
Download the new XAPK from the Engine Sim download page. Open your XAPK installer app and install the new file over the old one; do not uninstall first. Your engine picks and settings carry over. Launch, rev once to confirm, done.
If it refuses to update
"App not installed" during an update means a signature conflict, usually from a build grabbed elsewhere. Uninstall the old copy completely (you will lose settings, but the 28 engines are all still there) and install the new XAPK fresh. The install fix guide has the full checklist.
After updating
Skim the engine guide for anything new in the roster, and re-check your favorite engine: tuning refinements sometimes change a note slightly between builds.
